PirateChest On Live USB

PirateChest

The PirateChest offline file sharing system completely written in PHP has just got better.

The power of sharing files securely offline and totally eliminating virus attacks due to file transfer through usb makes you like a boss.

Ok enough of the talking right now, how has PirateChest just got better?

Formally, you will need some long installation procedure for you to install PirateChest, but by making it work on a live USB drive just got things better. No installations needed. All has been pre configured for you to use.

How do i use it now?

Its easy just follow the following steps.

1. Download a copy of PirateChest Live USB software here. Extract and put in a live USB flash drive, CD drive or to a folder in any location of your computer. In the root directory you will see a file named usbwebserver.exe, run it. And then add php to your environmental variables by copying the path of the php folder on the root folder. It should be something like E:\php or C:\PirateChest\php or the folder you extracted it into. Goto Computer->[Right Click and Select Properties]Advance System Settings->Environmental Variables->New[Variable: PATH, Value: {the path to the php folder}. This step is the most essential part of PirateChest Live USB installation.

2. [You can skip this ;)]Navigate to the root/application/_install folder and run the Install.bat file. On successful install move to step 3.

3. Go to the root directory and run the PirateChest.bat file as administrator. Congratulations you can now navigate to your IP:3000 or 127.0.0.1:3000 on your browser.

4. [You can skip this 😉 if you also want to connect anonymously]Register the admin account and login.

5. Upload the files you will like to share.

6. Connect from other devices on PirateChest Wi-Fi network and navigate to IP:3000.

7. Try downloading the files you uploaded.

8. Use Ctrl + C to close the server and to switch off the network run PirateChestStop.bat as administrator.

Congrats You Have Successfully Made Your First Lunch.

I guess you are very happy you found a solution to some of your problems.

**Note:: No need to do 1-4 all the time after install as this will reset the PirateChest. Just lunch the server from USB, CD or extracted folder.

We want to help you share files with your friends securely and anonymously.

Thank you all for suspporting PirateChest in one way or the other. Stay tuned for the PirateServer[Hardware] device we are building now.
